Memphis Athletic Ministries (MAM) is excited to announce the latest addition to our esteemed Board of Directors, Michelle Nixon. With an impressive background in development, marketing, and community engagement, Michelle brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for making a positive impact in the Memphis community.

Hailing originally from the bustling streets of New York City, Michelle’s journey to Memphis was driven by her father’s employment with FedEx. Relocating at a young age, Michelle quickly embraced the vibrant culture and sense of community that Memphis has to offer.

Michelle’s journey to MAM is marked by a trail of remarkable accomplishments. Having joined the Junior League of Memphis (JLM) in 2019, Michelle currently serves as their Senior Director of Development. Prior to her tenure at JLM, Michelle dedicated eight years of her professional career to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), where she held roles such as Associate and Assistant Director of Development for the College of Health Professions. Her commitment to educational and community advancement is further underscored by her previous positions as Director of Alumni Programs and Assistant Director of Alumni and Annual Giving.

Michelle’s educational journey showcases her unwavering pursuit of excellence. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. Further enhancing her qualifications, she earned an MBA with a concentration in marketing from Christian Brothers University in Memphis.

Michelle’s presence on the MAM Board of Directors is poised to bring invaluable insights and contributions. Her affiliation with the Junior League of Memphis introduced her to MAM’s mission, sparking her enthusiasm to further engage with an organization dedicated to the holistic development of youth through sports and mentorship.

With a formidable skill set in marketing, fundraising, and an extensive network of community connections, Michelle’s role on the MAM board is set to be transformative. She brings not only experience, but a passion for uplifting the lives of the youth within our city.

Beyond her professional commitments, Michelle finds joy in teaching swimming, as well as traveling and spending quality time with her family. Alongside her husband Ragan, Michelle is a devoted mother to her children Margot and twins Lorelei and Harrison.

In extending a warm welcome to Michelle, we acknowledge the immense value she adds to the Memphis Athletic Ministries Board of Directors. Her dedication, skills, and passion align perfectly with MAM’s mission, and we eagerly anticipate the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in our organization.
