Curious and excited kids hopped off the bus after school, as they arrived at the MAM Grizzlies Center to see a Coca-Cola truck filled with backpacks. More than 300 youth would receive these backpacks stuffed with brand new shoes and socks, snacks and groceries, and personal hygiene items. All of these items were provided by Samaritan’s Feet, Coca-Cola Consolidated, Kroger, and the City of Memphis. In addition to representatives from these organizations, Mayor Jim Strickland visited the Grizzlies Center to distribute backpacks. Reflecting on his time spent visiting with youth in the Alcy-Ball neighborhood, Mayor Strickland said, “If every child had an opportunity to participate in a program like MAM, the city would dramatically improve.”

Thank you to Samaritan’s Feet, Coca-Cola Consolidated, Kroger, and the City of Memphis!
