Memphis Athletic Ministries (MAM) and Sissy’s Log Cabin, the Official Jeweler of the Memphis Grizzlies and FedExForum, teamed up to host a mentorship event on Thursday, where 39 students joined Memphis Grizzlies players Santi Aldama and Trey Jemison on the FedExForum court for interactive games. The initiative demonstrated the effectiveness of partnerships and engagement in promoting youth personal growth and teamwork, highlighting both organizations’ commitments to positively impacting Memphis youth.
“This event goes beyond the game of basketball; it’s about mentorship and creating lasting memories that our kids can cherish for years to come,” said Kevin Windsor, CEO of Memphis Athletic Ministries. “Memphis Athletic Ministries is thrilled to partner with Sissy’s Log Cabin and the Memphis Grizzlies for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students.”
Sissy’s Log Cabin supplied basketballs in its signature blue and t-shirts for the middle school-aged students attending the event. After the activities, the participants were served dinner and received signed posters from the players.
“Being part of an initiative that brings such positive and memorable experiences for these students fills us with a deep sense of honor and responsibility,” Wyatt Jones, vice president and Memphis store manager, reflected. “Partnering with Memphis Athletic Ministries and the Memphis Grizzlies is a cornerstone of our community engagement efforts. MAM’s incredible programming and the Grizzlies’ commitment to community are what make these events so impactful. We are grateful to be able to contribute and be part of the collective effort to nurture and inspire the next generation.”
