3.14.19 – PUBLIC NOTICE INTENT TO APPLY
Memphis Athletic Ministries, Inc. has written this Letter of Intent to Apply for FY 2015 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant funds. This announcement serves as public notice of our intent to apply. Our application is in partnership with Shelby County Schools, the Achievement School District, Literacy Mid-South and Seeding Success aimed at expanding services to elementary students in selected schools in both districts. Funding will be used to provide an elementary literacy program at three of seven MAM neighborhood youth centers, MAM Olivet, MAM Grizzlies Center and MAM Leawood. The MAM Academic Director Ginny Windsor will oversee implementation of the 21st century program and manage the relationships between Literacy Mid-South, Seeding Success, Shelby County Schools and the Achievement School District.
The MAM program meets the criteria of a 21st Century Community Learning Center by providing academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools.
