Volunteer Position and MAM Location: I help with homework and hang out at the Greenlaw Gym.
Why did you decide to start Volunteering with MAM? I had been with my church a few times to play Dodgeball on Friday nights and loved that there was a vibrant ministry serving kids right there in my neighborhood!
How long have you been volunteering with MAM? I started volunteering in January of 2016.
Do you have a favorite memory from volunteering? There are too many to count! I love getting to sit down and do homework with kids every week. It was really fun when they started learning the schedule of when I would come and would save their reading for that day!
Do you have any advice for someone who might want to start volunteering? Ask a lot of questions! Kids won’t always volunteer information about their life, but if you ask questions and keep asking, they have a lot to say and listening to them is a huge ministry!
Sarah, THANK YOU for giving your time and energy to pour into the kids at MAM Greenlaw. You are such a joy to be around and the kids adore you!
