ESV Psalm 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9 He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. 10 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

I want to remind you that the Mercy of God has looked beyond all your faults and because of it, victory belongs to you through Jesus. The Psalmist states above (v.10) that ‘He (God) does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities’. This is because God dealt with His Son on the cross according to our sin and iniquities. Jesus took the penalty and pain that was rightfully due you and  me. Therefore we must make it a point and practice to keep pressing towards Jesus and not allow our past failures, mistakes and/or shortcomings to hinder us from experiencing His victory in the present and future. We used to sing a song in my church growing up – “He Looked Beyond My Faults and Saw My Needs.” I did not understand the song then, but I rejoice today and will forevermore that His mercy has looked beyond my many faults for ‘…as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us’. Praise the Blessed Name of Jesus!!
