Chick-fil-A Date Knight – April 2013
Memphis area Chick-fil-A restaurants partnered with MAM for their special Mother-Son Date Knight promoting the special bond between mother and son. A portion of the proceeds were donated to MAM as part of Chick-fil-A’s ongoing commitment to youth outreach in our community. The event was held at the Pink Palace Museum where mothers and sons took part in activities such as scavenger hunts and trivia and enjoyed sweet treats at the dessert station between visiting museum exhibits.
Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament – December 2012
This year's MAM Christmas Classic supports our efforts to hire part-time certified teachers to provide homework help to 525 elementary and middle school youth at nine MAM sites. For a complete tournament story, click here.
MAM Dental Day – June 2012
Forty children from three of MAM’s summer camp programs got their teeth counted, cleaned and painted with "vitamins" of fluoride, thanks to the dental staff at Christ Community Health Services. Many of the children did not know what to expect and were thrilled that the experience was painless. Click here to read the refreshing story with photos of our kids..
Samaritan’s Feet Shoe Distribution Event – June 2012
Former University of Memphis running back DeAngelo Williams and wide receiver Steve Smith, both of whom play for the Carolina Panthers, assisted Samaritan’s Feet in partnership with the Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club in giving our brand new footwear to 500 children. The children receiving shoes are involved in programs at Memphis Athletic Ministries Leawood Center, Streets Ministries Graham Heights Center and Girls Inc.
