Spring Semester 2015

MAM St. Andrew, one of MAM’s 10 centers, is partnering with Southwest Community College to provide MAM high school youth with college-level courses through its dual enrollment program.

Four students from Hamilton High School, one from Central High School, and a GED student are taking college level Biology, a lecture class with labwork.  The professor is Angela Ventura Wooten.  Classes are held Wednesday and Thursday from 4:45 – 6 pm and on Saturday from 10 am – 2 pm.

This new partnership began last fall with youth taking an Academic to Success class for 3 college credits. The same youth are now in Biology.

Plans are to continue offering these youth a different college course each semester, so upon high school graduation, they will be well on their way to earning associate degrees.
