The Memphis Grizzlies have formed a partnership with Memphis Gun Down, the Memphis Police Department’s Community Outreach Program and Memphis Athletic Ministries to host Midnight Basketball Tournaments at the MAM Grizzlies Athletic Center, located at 2107 Ball Road.

The tournaments will be held every Saturday, except the 4th of July weekend, beginning June 21, and running through July 26. The games run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The goal of the programs is to reduce crime among teenagers during high crime hours on Saturday nights. The tournaments will be double elimination, and games will last 10 minutes, with winners advancing to the next round. Players between the ages of 16-20 are eligible. There is no cost to participate, but registration begins at 6:30 p.m. every Saturday.

Memphis Gun Down was launched in Feb. 2013 by Mayor A C Wharton.
